Jambo and Happy Summer!

It is hard to believe that summer is already upon us. In Uganda, Kito Community School recently finished its first term for the 2019 school year. The students and teachers are home enjoying a much deserved break before returning for second term in the coming weeks.

Earlier this year, Enduring Communities launched a revamped student sponsorship program, in order to support more of our students in need. Through this program, our hope was to highlight individual students’ stories, and provide consistent support for their education.

We are incredibly grateful for the amount of support that we received. Through the generosity of our supporters, 32 students were able to be sponsored. These sponsorships will help provide students with books, uniforms, breakfast, lunch, as well as a portion of their teacher’s salaries.

While we are thrilled with the initial response and amount of support, there is still important work to be done. We still have numerous primary and secondary students in need of sponsorship. $10 a month will support a primary school student, and $30 a month will support a secondary school student (U.S. equivalent of high school).

During these summer months, we are renewing our effort to find partners for these students. If you are able, please consider joining us as we aim to provide education to children in rural Uganda. For more information, please visit the Sponsorships section of our site!

As always, thank you again for following along. We couldn’t do it without you.
