March 2021
Happy Spring from Enduring Communities!
We hope this email finds you safe and well. While it has been a year like no other, the students and teachers in Uganda have shown incredible hard work and resilience. Much like in the U.S., the school juggled the scare and uncertainty with covid, calendar changes, remote learning, as well as the return to in person learning with health restrictions in place.
Earlier this year, the older students in 6th and 7th grade slowly returned to in person classes. Other grades have been returning on a rolling basis as well, and while plans and local restrictions are subject to change, all students are scheduled to return in the next month. We are especially proud of the 7th graders who are graduating this term, and look forward to all that their futures hold.
While we are proud of the staff and students for navigating all of these challenges, we are also thankful to our partners who have continued to support us during this time. It has truly made a difference in the lives of our staff and students, as well as the Kito community as a whole.
2020 taught us to be flexible and adaptive at Enduring Communities, but we are pushing ahead and optimistic for 2021. We are hoping to host an in person event later this year, as well as travel to Uganda soon. Providing educational opportunities is as important as ever, and we are grateful that you are following along and joining us. We look forward to catching up further with everyone soon.
